Counselling Architecture
Clearing the NEET qualifying cutoff makes you eligible to participate in counselling. Seats are allocated through two distinct parallel systems based on seat quotas.
15% All India Quota (AIQ)
Conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)
Covers 15% of MBBS/BDS seats in all state government medical colleges, plus 100% of seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities, and Deemed Universities nationwide.
- Counselling Portal:mcc.nic.in
- Rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round.
- Expected Start: Last week of August 2026 (tentative).
85% State Quota
Conducted by State Medical Authorities
Covers the remaining 85% of MBBS/BDS seats in government colleges, plus 100% of seats in private medical colleges situated within each candidate's home state.
Domicile Rules Apply: State quotas are strictly restricted to state residents. Candidates must submit verified domicile documents to confirm state quota eligibility. State authorities release schedules independently after AIQ begins.
Mandatory Documents Checklist
Keep these original documents ready (along with 3 self-attested photocopies) for the seat allotment verification rounds:
- NEET UG 2026 Scorecard PDF
- NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
- Class 10 & 12 Marksheets
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile Certificate (for State quota)
- Valid Photo ID (Aadhar, PAN, etc.)
General Flow
- Online Registration: Create login on MCC or state portal and pay fees.
- Choice Filling: Select preferred medical colleges in order of preference.
- Mock Allotment: Simulated seat allocation to check chances.
- Seat Allotment: Official allotment order released based on AIR rank.
- Reporting: Visit allotted college to verify files and pay admission fees.
